How to Receive Assistance

All residents diagnosed with cancer and in active treatment in the Tri-County Region are eligible to apply for assistance from The Silver Lining Cancer Fund.

Guidelines for Patient Assistance
- Persons must be receiving active treatment for a cancer diagnosis (chemotherapy or radiation). Documentation is required.
- Persons must reside in the Tri-County Region
- Persons must have a financial need as documented on the patient assistance form
- Persons can receive assistance for up to one year or until other forms of help become available
- Assistance may be continued in special cases.

The Tri-County Region includes these Ohio counties: Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana

The Fund pays an amount which can be renewed in 6 months, if treatment is still active. The money can be used to pay for gasoline, food, electric, heating, or any expense other than medical costs.

The Fund takes applications from cancer patients who need help paying daily expenses. Physicians, patients, and other interested parties should contact The Silver Lining Cancer Fund to apply for assistance for themselves or for someone they know is in need of help to receive or continue treatment for cancer.
